From there, I will give out my recommendations of personal investment strategies: The strategy I follow when it comes to investing in stocks is the buy and hold strategy. A common misconception that you should avoid is to day trade/swing trade/speculate. Don’t be fooled by guys selling your stock trading programs or stock tips that will generate quick wealth. If you don’t want to research into specific stocks, buy into funds like QQQ & SPY and make 6-8% annualized gain. Avoid investing completely in one company and learn to diversify. It’s too hard to time the market and you’ll actually end up losing money by trading stocks. STOP TRADING AND START INVESTING (SHORT TERM vs. LONG TERM). “Overnight rich” stories that seem too good to be true, ARE. Creating wealth is a LONG TERM process like anything good in life. Or, if none else, simply invest in YOURSELF and your own ventures.

A common misconception is that negotiating is all about bargaining- it is not. Below are the 3 SECRETS to become a better negotiator and also a better communicator: 1. Listen empathetically, be an active listener (do this to find what the other person is looking for) 2. Preparation (tip: never go straight to a number/price). Sitting inside the my new restaurant venture, The X Pot, inside the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, I want to share why failure is so important and how success is not a monetary destination and that success is not an end-goal. If you think a monetary destination will make you eternally fulfilled, you will never achieve happiness and never find something that you love. Instead, find things that drive you that wakes you up in the morning even if the going gets hard. Failure has actually opened a lot of doors for me. I share an example from my first app creation that failed in High School. Even though we put thousands of hours into the project, we failed. Fortunately through the time spent I attained my two best friends that I now call brothers. Those two are now investors and partners in my many other projects all from a big high school fail eight years ago. If we hadn’t failed and learned from the creation of that app, I would not have learned many essential and key items that I apply in my ventures now.

The Black Lives Matter movement is so much more than the issue of police brutality. Police brutality is a serious and complex issue that is being surfaced to the public now more than ever. We must take a stand to our local and higher authorities to call to action better police training, policy change, increased accountability, consequential action, and the list continues. Unfortunately, however, police brutality is only one the many symptoms of a deeper and much more insidious crime that has poisoned and destroyed communities of humankind throughout history. That’s the systematic racism, xenophobia, and ignorance that make one group more powerful. Sadly, this comes at the expense of another group based on irrelevant characteristics such as skin color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and so forth. We must educate those that do NOT understand how slavery, redlining, and unequally distributed school funding are the causes of the wealth gap/incarceration rates of minority communities. Like so many of you, I’m heart broken by all the recent tragedies. But, I am also inspired by the positive changes happening in our world. Millions of people are now coming together to push new laws to protect LGBT communities from employment discrimination along with the vast donations raised to support the #BLM Movement. Of course, there is so much more to be done legally, financially, and politically to emit further change but what we have already accomplished is a great start. That’s why for this month’s giveaway, I will be donating $1 for every share of this video to your favorite African-American-owned business in your community.
