Wagyu Factory, Chubby Group’s all-you-can-eat Japanese barbecue concept, has made its New Jersey debut in Edison, bringing premium Wagyu and interactive tableside dining to one of Central Jersey’s established Asian dining destinations. Featured in MyCentralJersey on October 22, 2026, the restaurant opened the following day at 1763 Route 27, near H-Mart. The Edison opening marks Wagyu Factory’s seventh location, following its expansion across California, Washington, Texas, and Florida. Guests can explore Japanese, Australian, and American Wagyu through a 90-minute all-you-can-eat dining experience that combines tableside grilling with a wide selection of Asian dishes.
For Chubby Group, the new restaurant demonstrates how premium ingredients can be incorporated into an approachable, experience-driven dining format. Wagyu Factory offers a rotating selection of Wagyu cuts and other meats, including beef tongue, pork belly, and chicken wings, alongside a buffet featuring seafood, sushi, steamed dumplings, fried dishes, and desserts. Specialty offerings include Wagyu fried rice, Wagyu stir-fry udon, shrimp tempura, takoyaki, xiaolongbao, lobster dumplings, and egg tarts. A customizable sauce station allows guests to create different flavor combinations throughout their meals. Chubby Group co-founder David Zhao has emphasized that the vision behind Wagyu Factory is to make premium Wagyu more approachable while creating memorable experiences around the dining table. The Edison location brings that philosophy to a community already known for its diverse culinary offerings.
The broader business opportunity lies in combining premium dining with the flexibility and social appeal of an all-you-can-eat experience. While traditional Wagyu restaurants often emphasize formal service and individually priced cuts, Wagyu Factory creates an environment where guests can explore different flavors, cook together, and personalize their meals. For Chubby Group, the Edison opening reflects a continued commitment to developing restaurant concepts that balance ingredient quality, operational consistency, and customer engagement. As Wagyu Factory enters new markets, its interactive format offers an opportunity to introduce premium Japanese barbecue to a broader audience while strengthening Chubby Group’s national hospitality presence.
