Wagyu Factory Makes New Jersey Debut in Edison with All-You-Can-Eat Wagyu BBQ

Wagyu Factory, the premium all-you-can-eat Japanese barbecue concept operated by Chubby Group, has expanded into New Jersey with its first location in Edison. Featured by Patch Edison–Metuchen, the restaurant opened on October 23, 2026, at 1763 Route 27, marking the brand’s seventh location following its expansion across California, Washington, Texas, and Florida. The new restaurant introduces an interactive dining experience where guests can grill Japanese, Australian, and American Wagyu directly at their tables while enjoying a wide-ranging buffet of seafood, sushi, dumplings, hot dishes, and desserts. The concept combines premium ingredients with an approachable, social dining format designed for families, friends, and celebrations.

For Chubby Group, the Edison opening represents another step in expanding its portfolio of experience-driven dining concepts across the United States. Co-founder David Zhao emphasized that Wagyu Factory was developed to make premium Wagyu more approachable while creating opportunities for discovery and connection around the dining table. The restaurant brings that vision to life through a rotating selection of Wagyu cuts, marinated meats, and specialty dishes, complemented by an extensive buffet featuring Wagyu fried rice, stir-fry udon, shrimp tempura, xiaolongbao, and other Asian favorites. With its modern industrial interior, customizable sauce bar, and tableside grilling experience, Wagyu Factory reflects Chubby Group’s broader approach to combining ingredient quality, interactive hospitality, and accessible premium dining.

The larger business opportunity lies in making premium dining experiences appealing to a wider range of customers and occasions. By combining the quality associated with Wagyu beef with the flexibility and variety of an all-you-can-eat format, Wagyu Factory offers an alternative to traditional high-end steakhouses. The Edison opening also demonstrates how Chubby Group continues developing distinct restaurant concepts that can expand into new markets while maintaining a recognizable hospitality experience. As the company strengthens its national presence, Wagyu Factory’s New Jersey debut highlights the potential for interactive dining, culinary variety, and thoughtful restaurant development to create lasting connections with new communities.
